Last week I watched my very first Audrey Hepburn movie, Roman Holiday {1953}. I LOVED it! I must say, I loved the acting of Audrey. And her skirt & blouse outfit was simply charming! This is also only the second movie I've seen with Gregory Peck. Does he remind any one else of a mix of Fess Parker & Cary Grant? Or is it just me? =)

Some quotes from the film:
Princess Ann: At midnight, I'll turn into a pumpkin and drive away in my glass slipper.
Joe Bradley: And that will be the end of the fairy tale

Princess Ann: I could do some of the things I've always wanted to.
Joe Bradley: Like what?
Princess Ann: Oh, you can't imagine. I-I'd do just whatever I liked all day long.

Joe Bradley: Tell you what. Why don't we do all those things, together?
Princess Ann: But don't you have to work?
Joe Bradley: Work? No. Today's gonna be a holiday.
Princess Ann: But you want to do a lot of silly things?
Joe Bradley: [He takes her hand] ... First wish? One sidewalk cafe, comin' right up. I know just the place. Rocca's.

I love this movie, I always cry at the end. You should read a biography on her, she's has a very interesting back round!=)
Oh, I would love to read a book on her. Do you have any to recommend? =)
Sadly, I do not remember the name of the one that I read, but I found it by browsing through the biography section of the library. I like knowing peoples back stories!=)
Really, your first? :O Haha, but you should definitely watch "Sabrina." That's one of my favorites of her movies.
I love this movie. Audrey is amazing. Love Gregory Peck to bits. Sob at the end.
Oh! Now I have to rent this! I've wanted to for months! I've only ever seen "My Fair Lady" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's" now I have to add this to the list!
Oh!! This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE!!! I grew up watching it, practically, but didn't really *watch* it till I was 13. It started my love of all things Audrey. ;) I love the sweet/romantic/funny story and the wonderful acting and Edith Head's costumes and Audrey's gracefulness/adorableness and Gregory Peck's gentlemanliness and the bittersweet ending is incredible!! I could go on forever, lol. And you're right, Gregory Peck is a mix of Fess Parker and Cary Grant! I had never thought of that till you mentioned it but it sounds exactly right, lol.
Your first Audrey movie? She's a sweetheart - love her! This is one of my favorites with her. I love the Mouth of Truth scene. And the end. And... :-) You're definitely right about Gregory Peck's similarity to Cary Grant - haven't seen enough of Fess Parker to make that comparison.
Such a nice Movie !! ^^
